The Yard • About us

We love the sea. We love sails, boats, motors, waves, islands, rocks, the underwater world, a good breeze and sandy beaches.

We started with two boats only.

Not in Greece – in Croatia - just because of market research (you can't believe - we did it before, not after), and yes - we dreamed about perfect and ideal boats - about boats on which you can sail free and have fair winds and following seas (and not sit in the marina, waiting for the arrival of a mechanic or electrician, who has been promising for the fifth day already - but cannot reach you in any way, just because ...).

And then - we bought a shipyard. In Italy. In 2020. In the middle of Pandemic. Just because....

The shipyard was only two years old, established in 2018 by enthusiastic team of several young people (some are still with us in Skyron team) and the ingenious pragmatism of one very colourful Italian from Naples (who became the "godfather" of our charter and our shipyard). And yes - it was the only Italian shipyard that builds catamarans in series - under the French brand Dufour - the catamaran Dufour 48, designed by Umberto Felci.

And we bought it. Shipyard.
And we fell in love....

Our philosophy

- ... and - who is our guy?
- ... someone who does not need to prove anything. Not a fussy person. Deliberated. Solid.
- But .... why would he need us - with our boat? What special will we give him?
- .... Taste.... Taste of life.... To give him the same feelings with our boat, when you feel something deep ... as if you see something beautiful, or hear music - and feel goosebumps, and be breathless for a moment.... Feeling this, he have to say himself a simple words: "Damn, I want to go to the sea. I want to go into the sunset… Damn, what am I doing here and now?… THIS is what life is… Free life.... Real, not simulated. That's - what must evoke our boat, when people see it...

  • from a conversation of the same some founders in July 2020 in Marina Frapa

Everything can be dull and mundane - with just a list of certificates and specifications, parameters, unique characteristics etc. But we didn't want to be dull and mundane. We wanted to create boats that were balanced, reasonable, evoking confidence and a sense of the comforts of home. They would be spacious and convenient. They would also be safe for young and old, both in calm seas and when the storm hits. The boats would be ultra reliable, so that owners don’t lose precious sea time with the boat being out for repairs.
It would be hard.... but we would do it.

Why Cervetti

If you leave your car in the parking lot, oysters and mussels don't grow on it. Yachting - It's a completely different worldview.

  • Marco Cervetti in December 2020 in Venice

He's just huge. He's just mighty. He's just greatest, utmost, supreme. Born in Venice, with a soul wider than the galaxy. Our inspiration to make this world better. He's just one of us.

  • the same some founders about Marco Cervetti in April 2021 in Arsenal Dubrovnik

Marco Cervetti is a real Venetian osté, a chef by vocation, a man who cannot imagine his life without the sea: «I took shape as a person, living in Venice, in a city with different rules of life and interaction. Therefore, for me, the sea will always be closely connected with Venice.

Marco said: “When you drive on a city road, your actions have little effect on neighbouring houses and streets. But if you drive a boat through the canals of Venice, or go out to the open sea, everything that happens around you is directly related to you. And vice versa, your every movement affects everything that surrounds you. A resident of Venice or any port city never will ask about the air temperature - the only thing that matters at sea is the wind. The mood of the sea city changes with the wind, just like the mood of the sea. A person who spends a long time at sea begins to think differently, look different, and even act differently. Restrained, laconic, but expressive in silence. Familiar things on the mainland lose their meaning, new life skills appear in the sea, which sometimes even seem fantastic to a person from land. Maritime culture teaches us to understand silence, to be silent for a long time, to feel space, to distinguish between noises. Here on the sea you are alone with your boat and the elements.”
